California Ice

For Real! A good trip! My cv-axle on my car is on the fritz. I'm remembering the road I travelled - the scenic route (lost) to get to Roscoe - and I'm not feeling too bad that after 80K Olin miles I need to replace them... Good Subie. At least it didn't break on the way out to Seattle... more on that trip in a bit.
Need to get going earlier, and move quicker and more efficiently, still didn't get it to the top, but the headwall pitch was my stoutest lead to date probably. I don't know about Echo's pitches (the first 200' or so) but I felt like it was WI 5, techy and brittle... made me pucker just following.
Good fun... followed by a lot of down climbing and a bunch of rappelling... I think I need to go back after all this snow settles out and do it again and just enjoy it with out having to down climb all that WI2, you can tell we're a ways up off the valley floor... I think we did at least 8 little rappells.

Bridgette getting to the top of the headwall!

Echo on the first pitch.
